The modern 2017 Scott Spark 720 Plus is Scott’s answer for riders in search of the added traction of plus tires in a platform that’s designed as much for mountaineering as it’s descending. For 2017, Scott went back to the planning stage, completely redesigning the entire Spark line. Even as there are still a couple of race platforms within the line (including the Olympic-Gold-winning Spark RC 900 SL), Scott now offers Sparks with an extra 20-30mm of trip and trail-oriented geometry. The Spark Plus takes this geometry and adds the entire benefits of plus tires.
The Scott Spark 720 Plus starts out with a hydroformed aluminum front and rear triangle. Scott reworked their suspension design for 2017, and now use a vertical mount and a special Fox Nude Trunnion shock, which provides the rear end 120mm of trip (adjustable down to 85mm the usage of the bar mountain TwinLoc). To compare the rear, Scott is spec’ing a Fox 34 Performance fork with 130mm of trip, also with bar-mounted remote adjustment. Front and rear spacing is thru-axle Boost, to extend wheel stiffness and make allowance for additional geometry tweaks.
The Spark 720 Plus comes with a Sram GX1 1×11 drivetrain paired with Shimano M615 hydraulic brakes. The 720 includes the brand new Fox Transfer dropper seatpost, for additional keep watch over right through descents and uses matching Syncros components (handlebar, stem, saddle) to provide the bike a clean look. To finish the setup, the 720 features Syncros tubeless in a position rims shod in Maxxis Rekon tubeless in a position 2.8″ tires.
All Sparks receive geometry changes for 2017, and the Spark 720 Plus were given essentially the most trail-worthy setup of the bunch. As is the present trend in trail bikes, the Spark Plus receives a longer reach paired with a shorter stem (also a slacker head angle). This setup increases high-speed stability Even as keeping the rider in a comfortable position. Boost hub spacing allows for short 438mm chainstays to keep the Spark’s handling inline with it’s race heritage.
The 2017 Scott Spark 720 Plus will keep you charging on climbs and ripping descents with keep watch over and style. It’s to be had in four sizes, small through x-large, and is available in a Yellow with Black and Green accents.
