This 2008 Cervelo S1 is a 51cm frame, I am 5’8″ fits me like a glove, and has been a true pleasure to ride over time. I am selling because I have several other rides and I have run out of room. This bike is older but has no frame or component issues to speak of. With a bike this age there are a couple of cosmetic issues and I have included a bunch of pictures so take a look at them closely, you’re going to agree this bike is in great shape. Nothing a little touch up paint may not fix. The LBS went thru the gears and tuned things up and it rides quiet and smooth. I have the following list of upgrades that I have added over time to make her lighter and faster. I had a set of aero bars in this bike and with the dual position seat post in the forward position it is super comfortable for long rides.
Fulcrum 4 Racing Wheels, flat blade spokes, they’re strong, fast, straight and true.
Fulcrum Racing Torq compact carbon crank with silky smooth ceramic bearings – 50/34 chain rings and 170mm crank arms.
Vittoria Zaffiro Tires & Conti Tubes, New no miles on these tires.
Dura-Ace CS 7800, 10 speed 12/25 rear gears.
Dura-Ace Flight Deck – shifters/break pulls.
Ultegra front and rear derailleurs – picture shows a 105 but it is now an Ultegra.
Look Carbon Bars, 420mm Wide with a 120mm drop.
SeleItalia Cel Go with the flow Tech Seat – Still tons of miles in it but well used.
No pedals included – pictures show them but I’m keeping them.
I is not going to ship out of the contenential United States so please don’t ask, thank you.
Thanks for stopping by to look.
Below is the write up about the bike when it used to be introduced:
The most underrated bike on this planet in step with magazines and pro riders, the Cervelo S1 is somewhat simply the most productive value in road bikes. A 100% pro bike, with victories in Paris-Nice, Critérium International, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Tour de l’Avénir and lots of other races.
Nowadays people are once in a while so blinded by “carbon” that they prefer a mediocre carbon frame over the most productive aluminum frame that may be lighter, stronger, stiffer, more responsive and even more comfortable. For many who have recognized that the S1 is likely one of the best valued bikes on this planet.
TrueAero Tubeset – Lower aerodynamic resistance: TrueAero tube shapes are designed for the lowest drag at bicycle speeds.
Smartwall Cross Section – Increased stiffness without added weight: Smartwall moves material from the top and bottom to the sides of the aero tubes to lead them to laterally stiffer.
Cervelo Welding Method – Cervelo engineers developed this technique specifically for the P1 and S1 frames. Cervelo’s double-pass smooth welding without filing or sanding creates the strongest conceivable joints.
2-Position Seatpost – Two positions offers you a traditional road position or a steeper tt/tri style position in one frame.
Cervelo now designs their own specific airfoils, and it has led to significant improvements. It’s one of the most reasons why they spend weeks and weeks in the windtunnel each and every year, not hours (if any) as is customary in the industry.
When you could have the most and the most productive engineers working on aerodynamic improvements and you give them more time to play in the windtunnel sand box than anybody else, you find yourself with faster bikes.
Patent-pending technology from Cervelo’s carbon materials and manufacturing group, Smartwall™ elaborates at the Squoval tubeshape. With the sides far away from the center plane more essential, Cervelo concentrates more material there to increase the benefit.
